What you feed your new puppy and /or mature dog affects his/her quality of life.
After MUCH research, we landed on TLC for our dogs and their puppies. TLC is formulated by professionally trained nutritionists and they put much thought into every single ingredient. TLC is not sold in stores. It is sold exclusively online with a super convenient auto-ship option. Selling exclusively online means that they do not distribute to retailers. This helps keep the cost down for you as a consumer as well and ensuring proper storage prior to the food arriving at your home. Distributing to retailers allows for risk of improper storage that can affect the food and your dog. |

We highly recommend NuVet supplements for the life of your new family member. The wafers and the joint supplement are a great support product for your Portie. Puppies are born with immature joints. As they grow, ligaments strengthen and joints align. This supplement supports proper alignment.
Porties are active dogs. It's important that their moving parts are supported throughout their life. Continuing this supplement throughout the life of your Portie is something your best fur friend will benefit from. This supplement has proven to aid in maintenance of healthy joints into your dog's senior years. |

We really like this orthopedic dog bed. They hold up really well and our dogs love them! A tip for new puppy owners...remove the foam pad from the inside, wrap it in a trash bag, and then place it back in the zipper cover. If the puppy has an accident on the bed, your foam pad is now water(and pee-pee) proof!

This is the crate that we recommend you purchase to begin crate training and housebreaking. The smaller crate typically results in less accidents. Placing your new puppy in a larger crate will allow for more space for the puppy to move around. This would make it more tempting for the puppy to potty in their crate because they have room to avoid the mess they've made. Puppies don't want to potty in the area in which they will be sitting/standing. There are large crates available with dividers. This will still give the puppy a sense of space-causing them to have accidents.
We recommend the 13.5 x 22.5" size for a new puppy |

Many families ask me what type of playpen I suggest. This one is my FAVORITE. There are no horizontal bars/slats. This makes it more difficult for puppies to scale it and escape. It also reduces the risk of a paw/leg getting stuck. I purchased mine YEARS ago and they're still in like-new condition because of the quality. No rusting. Easy to clean. Easy to set up. Durable. It's a little more expensive than others you'll find, but it lasts FOREVER!
Definitely 5 stars from me! Click the button below for this playpen! |
We use this baby gate to confine the puppy to a small area while it's not under close supervision. We have found this gate to be the most sturdy. |
